ABOUT JAMES J. FITZPATRICK
James Fitzpatrick draws upon more than a decade of experience in state and national politics. His practice is dedicated to election law, ballot security, Election Day Operations, recount law, and strategic consulting. He has expertise in coordinating large political organizations and legal operations.
Numerous national and state candidates have called upon James’ expertise. Most recently, he served as Counsel and Director of Election Day Operations to the Doctor Oz for Senate campaign after he ran the successful statewide post-election and recount effort in the May 2022 primary. Immediately following Election Day in 2022, James served as Counsel to Bognet for Congress in the aftermath of the unprecedented situation in Luzerne County, PA paper shortage.
Prior to that, he served as Campaign Manager for Bill McSwain’s Gubernatorial campaign where he oversaw the day-to-day implementation of an approximately $10 million dollar campaign budget.
In the 2020 cycle, he served on President Donald J. Trump’s re-election campaign as the Pennsylvania State Director for Election Day Operations. In this role, James worked as the lead staff member for President Trump in Pennsylvania for ballot security, election integrity, management of the statewide poll watcher program, and the management of President Trump’s coalition of lawyers in Pennsylvania.
In the 2016 cycle James served as U.S. Senator Pat Toomey’s Political Director in his successful re-election campaign. At the time, this was the most expensive Senate race in U.S. history.
Additionally, James’s experience includes the 2008 U.S. Senate Coleman v. Franken recount in Minnesota, the 2010 U.S. House recount in New York’s 1st Congressional District, and the 2020 U.S. Senate runoff in Georgia.
James also served in senior government positions on the staff of Senator Toomey and served in the Trump Administration at the U.S. Department of Labor.
James is an Army Veteran and currently serves as an Officer in the U.S. Army Reserve as a Captain in the Judge Advocate General Corps. In 2018, he deployed to Kuwait and Jordan with the 28th Infantry Division of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
Besides his government and political work, James has worked as a litigator at several prominent Philadelphia area law firms.
He is a member of the Republican National Lawyers Association, the National Rifle Association, and a Life Member of the VFW.
